There’s costumed Halloween Critical Mass on Friday, Bike Kill 8 on Saturday, (starts afternoon-ish, finishes around 5am) a venerable institution based out of the parking lot at Home Depot in Bed-Sty, sure to leave even the most mild of revelers covered in weird goo or too drunk to walk straight, and the XVIII annual Halloween Alleycat at 3pm. If racing through insane traffic in face paint isn’t your deal… then there’s always the videos. Or the parties.

If you’ve ever seen the amazing illustrations/fliers for the bigger alleycats in NYC, you’re probably wondering who the artist is. Greg Ugalde has been creating some of the most incredible visual stories in pencil and full color for years. The M.C. Escher like complexity of the illustrations are mind bending. You can see more of his illustration work at the Cycle Hawk messenger website or via an Urban Cyclist Worldwide profile. You’ll probably also see Greg himself in the short lived TV show “Triple Rush.” He was the encouraging and level headed veteran messenger. So many talents!

One Response to Halloween in NYC is Bike Carnival

  1. Wow, that is a lot of wild stuff planned. I guess Mother Nature wanted to get in on it, by adding snow.
